Native Habitat Restoration

Experience gained in commercial forest crops makes AFM the ideal choice to look after your valuable native habitats. Whether you need to remove small or large wilding pines or want to plant an area of native species to recreate the original bush habitat, AFM has skilled crews to get the job done to your high standards and within budget. Our silviculture crews and crew managers have the physical fitness for the extremely rough terrain and long daily walking access that can be encountered on wilding pine control. AFM is contracted by P F Olsen to carry out the Jobs for Nature Contract for Wilding Pine Ground Control “drill and fill” operations in the Mount Richmond Forest Park, working in areas such as The Hackett, Motueka Gorge, Mount Starveall and The Red Hills.

Track Maintenance

Clearing vegetation to open up old routes in remote areas or upgrading surfaces to cope with higher traffic closer to civilisation, AFM can provide the tools and the staff. Previous work has included significant backcountry work for Department of Conservation.
